Suspension...
« on: January 20, 2011, 06:30:12 PM »
So I am really excited for this years drifting season to start. I've got a few upgrades that will be happening.

I already have a set of Tein type RA coilovers 10Kg/10Kg, rears are 16 way adjustable
*Just waiting to get one of my struts back from Tein after being rebuilt.

Also gonna be putting in my DTSS eliminators (can't wait)

Also doing a rollcage with door bars (necessary for tandem drifting)

Once I get my suspension on there I need to reconfigure how I want my alignment. I know that I want to run 1/8th toe in on the rear to help it slide a little better. possibly run anywhere from 0.5-1.5 degrees of negative camber in the rear as well.

Possibly a lil toe out in the front as well as more negative camber than rear (not positive yet) Don't think I'm gonna mess with caster cause I like how it is.

So That's kinda it for now until I decide I want something different.

and then adding a lil bit more to it. seems pretty cheap and its a weld in. plus I don't have to mess with bending the thing lol.

lol yeah thats like a bottom line cage, mine follows the contour of the whole interior and has several cross members and diagonal tubes. with that cage if you roll the car you save yourself, but the roof will most likely cave in where it isnt supported by the cage. this one right here is about double the price, but is a lot more structually soundYou are not allowed to view links. Ya I would love to do something like that but cash is tight right now, plus I could always add to the cage in the future. Who knows we'll see what I have left over from taxes lol.

I definitely hear you on that one. Will see what gets done before the season starts and how much cash I have to spare. Id rather have something than nothing though.

when does your season start? this one here is a lil cheaper, and still offers more support than the jegs one

if it comes down to it then just having the minimum will at lest get you through the season, then u can add on later when cash is more available

yeah it its actually pretty supportive, the retired car was at one point rolled and all that needed to be done to repair the car was cut out the roof and weld in a new one. there are actually a few welders where i work, one of them actually was part of Scott Pruit's chmpionship team in the rolex series this year, he was one of their builders
