Airbag recall

I just brought my 8 in for a final replacement recall the other day and the tech at the dealership was saying it was only a southern car recall. Have any of you guys in Michigan got a driver airbag recall or was the guy telling the truth that it's only southern cars?

they claim its a salt air/corrision issue.  if that is the case then Michigan is a perfect canidate.

Must just be cars from the ocean and gulf areas then. salt is one of the things I'm going to hate about coming back to michigan lol. I still need to get a bunch of the spray on bedliner and spray everything under my 8. It's basically rust free and I would love to keep it that way as long as possible.
