Running junkyard motor?
« on: March 10, 2016, 04:06:08 AM »
Anyone know a good place between Port Huron and sterling heights to look for a low miles 6 port rx8 motor? Really miss driving my car and don't know when I'll have the time and extra  $1400 to rebuild it the way I want. Just looking for a beater motor to buy me a few months till I'm not working 6 days a week and moving in to a new house.

Sounds like a good plan. A stock junkyard engine could last a long time.

I would be happy if I can find one that will last through the summer and part of the fall. I don't plan on driving the car in the winter so it will hopefully give me the time to do two motors so I can keep a spare on a pallet just in case.

Sounds like a great plan.  Not sure of places that have one off hand.
