Lots of little things have happened to the various other cars (and ones in my inlaw's family... went to town on one with a 16 lb sledge hammer...), but the most visually exciting has to be the new wheel color for Annalie's winter shoes.

They were getting pretty badly corroded in spots, causing the original paint to bubble & flake off. Two of them would also develop a slow leak every year, despite having the tire place un-mount the tires and wire-brush the inside of the bead on the wheel. So, since I need to do a bunch of sanding and sealing anyway, why not make them a fun color?

Just got Michelin X-Ice 3's installed on them - I had liked the Hankook i-Pikes that I had before (and they lasted about 55k miles), but they weren't offered this time around. They were good for deeper snow and seemed to keep their composure relatively well on the highway, so we'll see how the Michelins compare.
Rx-7's for Sale/Wanted / Trade 04 rx8
« Last post by Mark.c0000 on November 10, 2017, 04:55:11 PM »
Looking to trade for daily. I have an 04 rx8 six speed with a bad trans. Looking to trade it for a running daily. Would love another Jeep Wrangler or a pickup with rear seats. I am only considering getting rid of this because I am in the process of getting a divorce. I have about 3500 in the motor alone.

Clutch exploded taking out the bell housing.
Broken windshield in lower passenger corner.
Normal dings and dents that are on a 13 year old car.
Needs new front tires.

New 6 port motor (from Bennett built) with about 20k on it.
New starter about 10k.
New fuel pump about 5k.
New tein adjustable coilovers on all four corners about 15k.
Second motor that still runs but started smoking so was replaced.
Second trans that lost 6th but still has a good bell housing.
Texas car until early last year-ish practically no rust anyplace.
Motor has been premixed from day one.

RX-8 Generation Specific / WDS tool
« Last post by ITSWILL on November 07, 2017, 04:17:33 PM »
What do you guys do about situations where the FSM says you need the Ford WDS tool?  Is there something out there for schmucks like me who work on their own cars or do I pretty much have to go to the dealer and bend over?

Both my keyless entry and my EPS do not work and the FSM has led me to the point where i need this WDS tool to continue.

General Rotary Technical Support / Difference between Wing and Spoiler

Really neat article I found online, I really didn't know about the differences between these two terms.

Basically a spoiler distorts and organizes unstable air, while a wing is designed to create downforce.

I found this from this youtube video about the FD's aerodynamics, which is also interesting. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Also, the FC is actually a bit superior to the FD in the Aerodynamics department. Figured I'd share this with you guys.
