Been slacking on updating, but with buying a new house and all not much has happened with this car other than maintenance.
I did get a new radio and a little bit of an upgrade in speakers though. Finishing up a valve cover gasket job on it right now, and then time to start playing with suspension. If anyone has any stock FD struts, front knuckles, or front calipers I could borrow or buy that would be cool. Looking to convert to basically an FD front hub since coilover/bag options for the HD 929 are practically non existent and the brakes are small.

Carvana was offering way too good a deal on my '19 Veloster N, figured I was ahead on my loan and that prices would probably plummet in the next year or so, so away it went and the next day I drove out to Chicago to pick up a new summer daily/toy.

2008 Zo6 corvette 36k miles bone stock. Heads haven't been done yet, but are on my list for sooner rather than later.

I always wanted a v8 rx7 but could never pull the rotary out of it, so this will have to do.

Savannah is out of storage, and got a new top finally! Paul's Auto Interiors in Pontiac did it, and it looks really good now. I haven't put it down yet since they advised waiting another week for the vinyl to finish stretching, but it's nice and taut and the new headliner looks much better than the old, stained one.

I need to track down a few electrical gremlins, including a mystery loss in voltage that is causing some occasional issues with gauges and starting, the headrest speakers stopped working, and the tune needs a little bit of tweaking - something doesn't feel quite right. Otherwise, I think she's ready for summer!

After another week, and the oil smell does not seem to be coming back. Additionally, unscrewing the oil cap and trying to pull it out while the engine is idling shows that there is now a vacuum in the crankcase too, which indicates that the blowby issue has disappeared! The compression pressure seems to be about the same, roughly 155 psi when warm, so I don't know if that's going to improve any further, but the crankcase vacuum is still very encouraging.

Additionally, the "new" used Mazda 6 wheels now have tires and are installed (although Discount Tire really screwed up the fresh paint on them - they handled the painted winter wheels for two other cars fine, but these got really beat up), the brake system is flushed, and I went through the various plastic panels and heat shields to add foam and other sound-deadening material. At this point, Kaylee is feeling like a new car!

the rims turned out well.  glad you got some improvements out of the engine. and it puts you mid way on the compression so that is a bonus.
