Up for sale is my 2000 VW Golf. It's in pretty good shape for the year and I am only selling it because my wife has a new job that requires extensive travel and I wanted to get her something newer. Over the past year, this car has had tons of work done, including:
- Rebuilt head w/ new head gasket (done at around ~139k)
- New timing belt at ~147k
- New suspension w/ B&G lowering springs (~1 inch drop) and Koni orange STR.T shocks
- New tie rods with fresh alignment
- New resonator for exhaust
- New Kelly tires
- New Kenwood head unit w/ bluetooth and AUX inputs
- NOS vintage hub caps
Probably some other stuff that I am forgetting. The car has cold A/C and hot heat. It is mechanically strong and should be good to go.
It does have a few flaws:
- One of the rockers was bent by a previous owner and has some minimal repairable rust.
- The new resonator rattles a little bit
- Only the driver's heated seat works.
- Rust on the hatch
- The key doesn't work on the hatch. It has to be "popped" from the switch inside the car
Overall, it's a good car for its age.
