: What are your winter vehicle plans?
: ~Groll69~ September 15, 2011, 08:14:02 AM
The winter is fast approaching and for majority of us that means putting our toys up for the winter.  That also means its a great time to do some major and minor projects that we have been planning for them.  What are your plans, just storing your vehicle, winter road rallies, fixing various items that may have broke etc.

For me the plan is one, get the car off the road, two begin working on it and fixing the issues that have come up that need attention both cosmetic and mechanical.

1: Rally civic!!
2: *top secret project*
3: steal more parts from Rich
4: get my wheel back from Rich
5: get Will to steal parts from Rich
6: snowball fight with an elderly person
7: come up with new ways to stay warm in the garage

Think that might cover this winter for me...

How come i seem to be targeted with the parts thing?  That probaly accounts for why i need a new fuel pump now for the vert.  doing anything sunday?  Want to pull the blue car apart so that i can get rid of it?  I figure the wheel makes a partial payment for parts stolen from me lol

1) Tri-link/Panhard
2) Battery re-locate to bin behind passenger seat.
3) Hopefully spending the rest of the winter waiting anxiously for next season instead of frantically throwing money at & wrenching on a project to get things put together at the last minute.

gzfqy6, I'd like to see a pic of your car with those DR-9 wheels.  Also curious about more details with your rear suspension mods on the SE.

If I keep my Turbo SE (got a bug to get a NSX), I plan to:

1. Find a new rear bumper cover and have it painted.
2. Fix the storage bins a bit beter than I have so far.
3. Install rear shocks.
4. Sell the set of old Konis.
5. Consider dieing the front carpet.

pjr,

These are the gunmetal color.  Rear suspension is from Jim Susko of G-Force Engineering who is selling his business....I think I picked up one of his last remaining kits.  http://gforceengineering.net/products.htm

OOPS! right click on image to open in new window for image large enough to see.

Lots of stuff I'd *like* to do, but not having a garage cuts down on the possibilities & size of the projects.

1. Install alarm & remote-start (although I'll prob never use the remote start), mostly for automatic locks & the more sensitive alarm
2. Clean up interior bits & pieces, some of the plastic is really beginning to look like crap
3. Relocate MS pressure sensor closer to engine for better response; figure out a way to get rid of the signal noise
4. Wire up a couple of datalogging inputs to the MS, such as EGT, Fuel pressure, and then at least 1 or 2 more that I can use for pre-IC temperature or pressure
5. Try to adapt a better TPS, like a GM-style twisting potentiometer instead of the plunger-type that jumps all over the place
6. New TID & air filter, and an actual box pulling cold air.
7. If I have the money, I'd like to have a place fab up a new exhaust since the flanges on my pieced-together one are a bit too thin and warp pretty quickly, creating a nice little leak.  Plus, it hangs a bit low & doesnt fit all that well.

1. winterize the FC
IE: corksport rad hoses coolant flush (get rid of water wetter) heater core hoses and clamps
2. clutch slave cylinder and piping
3. put studded snows back once snow falls.
4. drive it
4. drive it on frozen lakes
