: 2nd Annual MRC Camping and Cruise 2015
: krazykreiner July 08, 2015, 11:46:04 AM
Once again we are planning on a cruise and camping trip to the Grand Haven/ holland area again. looking at staying at the same place again, again the weekend after Labor Day, since it is off season and cheapier. :D if we book things soon we might be able to get the cabins again. I know there are 2 near the restrooms that can sleep I think 4-6 people. I would like to try to book one of these if not both, so please let us know who is intrested and if anyone wants to share a cabin. not all the cabins are near each other so if we can get the 2 next to each other that would be awesome.

So September 12th and 13th.  We are going to try to be there, no guarantee, but I think there is a very good chance.

I'm not a fan of camping (to put it mildly), but I'm definitely interested.  Any particular schedule of activities?  I'm a newbie, so wasn't involved with it last year.  I'm familiar with that area, as I was born in Muskegon, and my oldest brother never left the Grand Haven area.

ok so the website for the camp ground is http://www.grandhavencampground.com/ (http://www.grandhavencampground.com/) We usually come up Friday evening and just hang out at the campground. We will get up in the morning and have everyone meet us there. and then we do a drive along the lake shore down to Holland. Last time we drove to Tunnel Park and then after we ate and hung out we drove down to Saugatuck. I am not sure yet on the drive or anything. I am willing to try another route if we want to try something new. I will be calling hopefully the end of this week to reserve our cabin and to try to see if we can get anything close by it.

Let me know, not sure if I'm going to make it up Friday night or Saturday morning, depends on my schedule then, which is up in the air. Let me know if there's a cabin or lot next to you as soon as you can then I'll call up.

From the look of things the place we went last year is either out of business or something. I can not get a hold of them to make reservations. So we were thinking of doing Silver Lake instead. so trying to find out if we rent a house that can sleep 14 who would be interested? We can still do a drive down to Muskegon then for a picnic. I will need to know ASAP so I can reserve space or the house. I will be checking out other areas for cabins and campgrounds as well.

Silver Lake campground is dog-friendly as a last resort, so Helen & I are interested. Would the house be dog-friendly?

We've also been to Dune Lake Campground a little bit south of there between South Haven & Benton Harbor - It's a nice dog-friendly site with some cabins (I haven't stayed in them, but they seem a little more rustic than the ones at the site last year)

so we would have to pay extra deposit for the dog. But we also have to get permission. I know we are also asking for tents on the property and extra cars. Once I get more details I will pass them on. But I also was thinking that we can all pick a meal to make. also are we still wanting to plan a cruise or just hang out?

I think we would meet up at my house tomorrow and drive out together tomorrow after work.  What time works for everyone? I can be home by 2 or 3.
